As of September 1, 2015 the Jackson Laboratory Colony Management System (JCMS) source code is available on GitHub (https://github.com/jaxcs/JCMS-root.git) as an Open Source software product. Included on the GitHub site are JCMS Web, JCMS Access interface, JCMS Access Installer/Upgrader, JCMSWeb Installer/Upgrader, JCMS MySQL Converter, and JCMS Pedigree Tree. The software is no longer in active development and is provided “as is.” Questions may be posted on the JCMS Community Forum: http://community.jax.org/jcms_discussion_forum/f/default.aspx.

The JAX Colony Management System (JCMS) is a free and community supported multi-user relational database system for managing research mouse colonies. Support for developing JCMS was provided by NIGMS, HHMI, and The Jackson Laboratory. It has a broad user-community with over 4,500 people currently signed up on the JCMS user support list. JCMS Web runs on any platform and most modern web browsers.
